BUDDING young players will have the chance to be coached by professionals at the Severn Stars Future Stars Netball Camp.

It is at the University of Worcester Arena on Sunday with subsequent camps at the University of Worcester on May 27 and the University of Gloucestershire on February 12 and April 6.

The camps are run by Stars' coaching staff along with Superleague players.

They are aimed at children in school years four to nine, seven to 14-year-olds, and run from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

Participants will have sessions on team building, ball skills, attacking and movement, defence and match play.

No level of ability is required to attend.

Last year’s camp attracted youngsters from Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire.

Louisa-Jayne Walker, director of netball at the University of Worcester, said: “We are excited to be offering the camps for the 2018 season after the success of last year’s.

"They are a great opportunity to work with children from the Severn Stars community to improve their netball skills, have fun and also inspire them, through Stars players as role models, to continue in the sport and aspire to maybe one day play for Stars.”
