CHRIS Drew took a wicket and conceded just four runs in a tense final over as Old Vigornians beat Clent by one run in a friendly at New Road.
After choosing to bat, the Worcester club suffered a blow when JP Hopkins produced the ball of the day to dismiss opener Dan Wheeler (18).
But Dom Lee top scored with 72 and thanks to valuable support from Tim Waites (30) and Ali Hall (22) OVs finished with 191 off their 40 overs.
In reply, Clent made a steady start, reaching 81-2 before a great run out by Bobby Lanchbury-Thomas caused a clatter of wickets.
After a four-year break from cricket Dan Read returned to the side and picked up 2-32 from his eight overs.
Although wickets kept falling Hopkins guided Clent from 95-5 towards what had appeared an unlikely win.
Going into the last over, the visitors needed six and had two wickets in hand. But Hopkins holed out to Alex Parker as Drew produced match-winning figures of 3-23.
