WORCESTER'S Old Vigornians made it three wins in a row thanks to a fine all-round performance from Kieran Rees.

He led them to victory over high-flying Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social in Worcestershire League Division Two by 46 runs at King's Hawford.

Rees was the mainstay of their innings, scoring 83 in 284-7 in 50 overs.

He shared in a fourth-wicket stand of 72 with Rich Geary (35) and 40 for the fifth wicket with Asim Ibrar (23).

OVs added 104 in their final 10 overs thanks to big hitting from Todd Dudley (29) and captain Alex Parker (19 not out).

Oldswinford struggled to keep up with the run-rate despite a good start.  Tom Hayward and Junayd Iqbal put on 73 for the first wicket in 15 overs when Rees picked up the first of three wickets with his off-spin.

Iqbal made 20 and Joe Sidaway 23 but Hayward struggled to find anyone to stay with him.

When he was seventh out for a fine 110, his side needed 65 to win in five overs.

They were dismissed for 238 in the penultimate over with Matt Marskell taking three wickets in his first league game for 10 years after a serious back injury.

Rees finished with 3-38 and Parker 2-37.

A swashbuckling knock by Dom Lee and miserly bowling led OVs seconds to a convincing 53-run Division Two win in sunny Stourbridge.

Put into bat on a fine pitch, OVs started well thanks to Tony Meek (46) and Rob Lanchbury-Thomas (65) with 90 for the second wicket after skipper Aidan Thompson was out for 19.

After Ahsan Fiaz fell for 24 Lee led the way with a blistering undefeated 82 which included seven fours and six sixes.

With James Bader (14no) he put on 77 for the fifth wicket and helped OVs to 108 in the final 10 overs as the innings closed on 268-4.

Lee then had to race to Worcester to sing in the cathedral choir at Evensong.

Although OVs fielded with just 10 men, Oldswinford were restricted by Phil Mackie, who conceded just 21 runs in 10 overs, and Ibby Munir with 1-29.

While the pair bowled in tandem, Stourbridge only added 52 in 20 overs.

James Bader (1-38) also bowled well but the stand-out was 19-year-old James Hayward-Meek (1-32).

David Lane carried his bat for 64 as Oldswinford finished short on 215-3.
