JAMIE Smith was the Worcester News star man as City lost 3-2 at Boldmere St Michaels (Saturday, August 4 2018). Who was yours?

RATINGS

DAN JEZEPH 4

Varying levels of culpability for all three goals. A day to forget for the debutant but signs of promise based on some good saves at important times.

JOEL CAINES 5.5

A solid enough debut but had a tough time with Aaron Ashford who got in plenty of service for Boldmere.

STAR MAN - JAMIE SMITH 7

Generally shackled his man, some decent delivery from deep and popped up with a headed goal from a corner. Perhaps a question mark over the third goal, though.

LUKE ENGLISH 5.5

Bags of effort, physically strong, distribution was a concern at times. Commitment could not be faulted.

JORDAN STODDART 6.5

Covered to the best of his ability, as did English, when the midfield got bypassed or left the back four exposed.

BEN CLARKE 6

Good work rate, still getting his bearings and match fitness. Glimpses of promise.

LIAM LOCKETT 6.5

Another assist and put smiles on faces with those trademark mesmerising runs. More to come.

RILEY KEASEY 5.5

Plenty of effort without quite getting it right out of possession. Was not alone in that regard but it was a key battleground against robust opponents.

DAVE REYNOLDS 5.5

Flying start with the goal but soon cut a frustrated figure and that told through the concession of needless fouls.

JORDAN HARRISON 5.5

Showed some raw talent here and there, this performance lacked end product but at least kept plugging away.

JAMES BALDWIN 6.5

A livewire with composure early on, had more come off City would have been out of sight. Faded in the heat but more minutes in the bank will only help his quest for regular starts.
