WORCESTER Warriors are expected to find out the severity of Scott van Breda’s shoulder injury on Monday.

The 26-year-old utility back came on for the second half of Warriors’ pre-season clash at Benetton last week only to be forced off with nine minutes left.

Director of rugby Alan Solomons said van Breda, who arrived at Sixways from Jersey Reds this summer, would be “conservatively treated” and miss the start of Worcester’s Premiership season.

“We will just have to wait to see with Scott,” said Solomons after Warriors’ 52-24 win over Hartpury on Saturday.

“He has seen a specialist so I will wait until I get more detailed information on it.

“But at the moment it looks like he will just be conservatively treated and we will have to see how he goes over the next two to three weeks.

“(Head of medical) Ryan (Kehoe) was away with him on Friday to see the specialist.

“I will get a clearer view on Monday but there is no hurry on that as he is not going to come back over the next couple of weeks.”
