RYAN Green and Gareth Davies will lead Hereford FC for Saturday’s Vanarama National League North match against Ashton United at Edgar Street (3pm).

Centre-half Green will assume the role of player-manager while Davies, a former Hereford United defender, takes up the role of head of football.

The temporary appointments were made following the sacking of Peter Beadle and Steve Jenkins.

Green and Davies, the current Welsh Football Trust senior coach educator, took charge of training and will lead the Bulls until a permanent management team is announced.

Davies said: "We appreciate that this is a difficult time but the lads have an important job to do and they will need the fans’ support more than ever.

“Ryan is a key man. He is a popular figure both on the terraces and in the dressing room and I am sure he will be able to prepare the players for the game.”

Also in National League North, fourth-placed Kidderminster Harriers go to York City looking to stretch their unbeaten start to the season to nine games.
