A LARGE field turned out for Worcester Golf and Country Club's am-am.

The winning team of Tony Sanders, Dave Hunt and Martin Lewis from the home club and Steve Fincher from Droitwich recorded 104 points.

Their total consisted of eight gross birdies and three gross eagles.

With two scores to count on all holes and three on par threes, it made the winning score all the more impressive.

Runners-up on 100 were S Fairweather, A Margret and B Ball from Stonebridge, Meriden, and A Kinzet from Whitefield, Manchester.

Third spot went to a home team consisting of Robin Harris, Greg Edwards, Phil Wilde and Jack Humphries on 96.

The seniors open was won by Boughton Park’s Trevor Portman with 40 points followed by club-mate Brian Warrington on 39 just ahead of R Spears from Kings Norton on countback.

The course was full for the club day’s Texas scramble which was won by Rick Gerrard, Richard Smith, Tim Sherwood and Jon Holloway with 53.7 from one-10th of combined handicaps.

Runners-up with 54.2 were Andrew Duddell, Paul Barwick, Keith Buxton and Vivien Collett.

Third was John Fellows, Don Warner, Dave Lannie and Sammy Woodward on 54.5.
