MARTIAL arts school London’s Chinatown Taekwondo (LCTKD) are celebrating 10 years in the Vale and Cotswolds this week.

They started their first class in the area on September 17, 2008, and now teach hundreds of students across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the Cotswolds through 20 teachers.

Two students Bill Carmen and Marie Hall recently completed their assistant instructor course.

The first class was in Broadway and ran for many years but has since been replaced by sessions in Ashton-under-Hill, Moreton-in-Marsh and Broom.

Student Joe Aspey, of Broadway, became a black belt at 67 and an instructor aged 68.

Aspey said: "One of the things I like the most is LCTKD reaches out to people who wouldn't normally be involved in martial arts and has a very mixed range of students from as young as four to as old as 88."

Club director Neil Hall hopes to make a montage of photos of students from over the years and is asking for pictures to be sent to office@lctkd.com.
