TOP-10 finishes in race three from Matt Neal and Dan Cammish ensured a positive end for Droitwich's Halfords Yuasa Racing at Silverstone in the British Touring Car Championship.

Cammish secured the coveted Jack Sears Trophy in his rookie season.

Neal and Cammish gave the Team Dynamics-backed Honda squad hope after claiming sixth and 11th on the grid respectively.

But Neal's silverware bid was scuppered just two laps into the first encounter when a rival span into the path of his Honda Civic Type-R (FK8).

After terminal rear suspension damage Neal pushed forward from 29th in race two to get a points-scoring 14th.

The three-time champion clawed his way back to seventh in the third contest.

Cammish was 10th in a tight first race before a battling performance for 15th.

He saved his best for last with eighth in the third contest to secure the trophy.

In the overall drivers’ standings, Neal is ninth with Cammish 11th while Honda are second in the manufacturers’ championship and Halfords Yuasa Racing third in the teams’ classification.

Cammish said: “It’s terrific to seal the trophy in my rookie BTCC season.

"The drivers that have won the title in previous years have gone on to achieve great things so I hope this will be the first of many big BTCC trophies with my name on!”

Colin Turkington leads the drivers' standings with 300 points.

Sam Tordoff, Tom Ingram and Aiden Moffat shared the victory spoils at Silverstone.
