KIDDERMINSTER Victoria ended their Birmingham League Premier Division campaign with a disappointing seven-wicket defeat against Himley.

Batting first, Kidderminster got off to a poor start and were 54-5 in no time as Josh Knappett, Andrew Siwicki, Will Gifford, Jonathan Wright and Mark Mansell all failed to impress.

A stand of 42 between Sean Lloyd and Craig Wood helped get KVCC back on track.

Wood departed for 30, but Andrew Kimberlin (37no) and New Zealander Kevin Forde (20) added 39.

Kidderminster were dismissed for 170 inside 45 overs, thus giving Himley 65 overs to reach their target.

However, they needed less than half that amount, winning the game in the 32nd over.

Forde made an early breakthrough for KVCC when he trapped Pearce lbw for nine.

Fox was also leg before to Ted Baylis for 32 and Wright was caught by Miles off Mansell's bowling for 38.

Kidderminster's bowlers could not manage any further wickets, though, as Jones was 14 not out and Bassett was unbeaten on 69 as Himley reached 173-3 to seal the win.

The match was Stuart Lampitt's final game before retiring.

The former Worcestershire all-rounder started playing cricket at Himley at the age of 13.
