I AM pleased with the way Worcester City are playing at the moment and the results we are getting.

I think we look a strong side and are creating opportunities as well as looking solid at the back.

Things are going in the right direction and there's a good feeling around St George's Lane.

The team is unbeaten in five games and we want to keep that run going as long as possible.

I said we would have a look where we were in the table after 10 matches and we have got one game to go before that - at Alfreton Town on Satur-day.

But, with the start some teams have had, just to be in touch with the play-offs zone is no mean feat.

Given our record against Leigh RMI and Solihull Moors last season I would have taken four points over the weekend but being greedy, like I am, I wanted six because it would have consolidated our position in the top 10.

Having said that, it was good to win our first game of the season at St George's Lane on Saturday.

It's important for fans to see us win our home games and play well. When we are doing well away it doesn't seem to relate to home supporters because they don't feel part of the success.

Winning at home gives them something to cheer about but they have been absolutely superb this season with the way they have got behind the team because of our disappointing start.

Ryan Clarke and Emeka Nwadike will be returning to Alfreton at the weekend for the first time since they joined us.

I think they appreciate what Alfreton did for their careers and there will be no animosity when they go back.

I have also been delighted with new signings Paul Barratt and Peter Doran, they have been massive plusses.

Patrece Liburd has also done well in defence and he handled the physical threat of Danny Davidson well against Solihull Moors on Monday.

We have got a young side. If you take out Danny McDonnell and Nick Colley, everyone is under 29 and the majority are 26 or under.

It's a very young squad and it can only be encouraging for the future and hopefully we can keep this group of players together.

I think there have been some really good performances throughout the side but they all know players are coming back from injury and will be pushing them for places.

Adam Burley has been receiving treatment on his injured back and there's a possibility he can start training in the next week or two.

But we are just taking it really slowly with Shabir Khan to make sure he is right.

Midfielder Gary Walker is doing really well at Malvern Town as is defender Danny Hodnett at Evesham.

Academy players Matt Dinsmore and Lee Palmer have been training with us throughout the season.

It would be nice to be able to give them an opportunity on the field because they have been sat on the first team bench and haven't had a minute yet.
