THE favourites finally came good towards the end of a seven-race afternoon at Worcester Racecourse today.

Adam Wedge piloted second-favourite Majestic Moll to victory in the British EBF/TBA Mares' Novices' Chase ahead of fancied Kalahari Queen.

Mercian King was next to upset the odds with Jack Quinlan forced to hold on gamely to come in at 7-2 ahead of Nightfly in the Taylor Hart & British Gypsum Handicap Chase.

Thyme Hill then scampered away with TJ O'Brien on board in the MintBet Standard Open NH Flat Race as favourite Disciple got held up early doors to finish sixth.

O'Brien made it two in a row by leading odds-on Awake at Midnight to victory in the MintBet EBF National Hunt Novices' Hurdle in spite of it not being the most fluent of finishes with Shiroccan Roll in hot pursuit. Skidoosh recovered to come in fourth.

Kublai jetted away from 5-2-favourite Winter Spice to claim top billing in the MintBet Handicap Hurdle Division One before Bradford Bridge tracked the leader and travelled well to ensure no surprises in Division Two. Out for Justice went well as the 20-1 outsider but never truly threatened an upset with early leader The Dawn Man pulling up.

The finale saw Motueka hold off fellow joint-favourite Glanville's Guest to win the MintBet 500 Novices' Hurdle.
