DAN Jezeph was our Worcester City star man against Long Eaton United. Who was yours?

STAR MAN – DAN JEZEPH 8

His point-blank saves in the first half and commanding collection of high deliveries throughout made the difference every bit as much as Tyler Weir’s brace. The only blot on his copybook was not adapting his kicking to counter the wind.

LUKE ENGLISH 6

Solid without doing a great deal going forward. Stood his ground and again provided a weapon with his powerful throw-ins.

JAMIE SMITH 6.5

Made a strong-enough return to the team. Added to the attacking play, went close to scoring and started the move for the second goal yet had a couple of wobbles at the back.

GEORGE FORSYTH 6

One or two uncomfortable moments and stray passes but generally pretty solid alongside Jordan Stoddart.

JORDAN STODDART 6

Again, good enough rather than good but got the job done when the going got tough in testing conditions.

JOEL CAINES 6.5

Broke up play well and stayed cool in the heat of battle. Got clattered by Zak Goodson but dusted himself off and got on with it.

TYLER WEIR 7.5

Two well-taken goals and gave plenty despite not having trained this week due to circumstances beyond his control. Tired late on but that was understandable.

CHRIS WITHINGTON 7

Tenacious, got around the pitch and helped to open up Long Eaton for the second goal which was a fitting reward for his efforts.

JORDAN HARRISON 5.5

Not at the races. Worked hard off the ball but did not look comfortable on it.

MAT BIRLEY 6

A mixed bag on his comeback. Some sublime touches and good leadership at times, some wayward passes and finishes at others. A full 90 minutes will benefit him no end.

JAMES BALDWIN 6.5

Full of running with a bit more offered with his final touch but frustration builds when he fails to track back having lost possession.
