THE next generation of Pershore women played their first touch match with a friendly against a fledgling team at Stratford.

Undeterred by the rain, the nine Pershore girls, all aged under 13, enjoyed the training match and will play another friendly against Stratford at home in November.

Training for under 13s in the non-contact rugby takes place every Sunday from 10am until 11am at the club's Wyre Piddle ground.

For over 13s, women and men, training is at the same time on a Sunday and every Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, Pershore men's first XV had to play with 14 for most of the match due to injuries as they lost 36-3 at Clee Hill in the RFU Midlands Junior Vase second round.

They host Harbury on Saturday.
