EIGHTEEN Malvern Joggers braved extremely windy conditions to tackle the 63rd running of the gruelling 6.7-mile race to the top of Worcestershire Beacon organised by Worcester Athletic Club.
The course was run on tarmac, loose gravel, paths and turf.
The race started and finished in Rose Bank Gardens, passing St Ann's Well three times and the Gold Mine before ascending the path to Worcestershire Beacon followed by a fast descent to West Malvern then up and around North Hill before the final
downhill section back.
First Jogger home was Martha Worthington in one hour three minutes 22 seconds followed by Ian Dyson (1.06.36), Andrew Gallagher (1.07.05), Mike Bolton (1.08.49), Ian Walwyn (1.09.31), first female veteran over 55 Julie Caseley (1.12.08), Lucy Gallagher (1.12.57), Brian Henderson (1.14.30), Steve Ollis (1.15.39), Adam Hall (1.17.59), Alison Priest (1.18.11), Jonathan Fligelstone (1.18.13), Angela Jordan (1.21.10), Mike Anstey (1.23.43), Neil Coleman (1.30.38), Lynda Broadway (1.30.50), Charly Lowndes (1.36.58) and Lance Tombs (1.41.54).
Andrew Milton (2.01.49) and Ian Probert (2.09.13) did the Birmingham Half Marathon while Julia Heron (2.02.09) ran the Cardiff Half Marathon.
Annelle Bolton ran the Bournemouth Marathon in 4.42.46.
