TWENTY-nine runners from Malvern Buzzards took part in the Worcestershire Beacon Race.

They boasted the biggest turnout at the tough trail race on the Malvern Hills in windy conditions as the club prepared to celebrate their first birthday.

Buzzards' Jack Dickenson was third overall in 47 minutes 40 seconds with Keith Evans fourth and first man over 40 in 47.49.

Sarah Armstrong finished first woman in 57.58 while Dominique Kent clocked 59.53 to be first woman over 45.

Megan James raced the Lakes in a Day Ultra Run, clocking 18.31 for 50 miles in soggy weather conditions.

James Lush ran the Birmingham Half Marathon in heavy rain in 1.29 and Nando Sestito did the Pisa Half Marathon in 1.50 on a warm Italian autumn day.
