DEFENDER Tom Fishwick has completed a protracted move back to Worcester City from Redditch United.

Midland Football League officials today confirmed a registration glitch had been resolved, meaning the centre-half will be eligible for Saturday’s home clash with Sporting Khalsa.

There had been doubts over whether Fishwick would have to wait 14 days after appearing as registered with Highgate United on the FA’s Full Time portal but with the matter cleared up, he can start his third City stint in 16 months this weekend if selected.

“He is a player Snapper (manager John Snape) knows and wants around, we feel he can add to the quality we already have,” said assistant manager Ashley Vincent.

“That is the key thing. It is not just another body, he adds quality which is what we need if and when we do decide to bring in players.

“It would have been nice to get him some minutes at Pershore (on Tuesday) but that could not happen.”

Fishwick began last season with Worcester, making 11 appearances, but returned to previous club Coleshill Town after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by.

He then joined Redditch before signing forms with City on dual-registration terms but did not make another appearance in blue and white.

Having remained at Redditch over the summer, Fishwick suffered a fractured cheekbone in August which required surgery.
