WESTFIELDS are targeting a run in the FA Vase as they prepare to take on Shawbury United at allpay.park on Saturday (3pm).

The Midland Alliance high-fliers host the West Midlands League Premier side, managed by former Kidderminster Harriers hero Delwyn Humphreys, in the second qualifying round.

Westfields rested several key players for Tuesday's Herefordshire Senior Cup first round match against Ewyas Harold but eventually won 6-5 on penalties.

But top-scorer Mark Davis, captain Scott Jackson, Jamie Edwards and Tom Sparey will all return for the Vase clash.

Chief executive Andy Morris said: "It's a big game and hopefully we can overcome Shawbury United.

"We want to have a run in the Vase because we are out of the FA Cup and it's a competition we want to progress in."

In other Vase ties, Ledbury Town head to Herefordshire rivals Wellington for a crunch clash.

Bewdley Town host Pelsall Villa and Pegasus Juniors tackle Graham St Prims at home.

Pershore Town hope to reclaim top spot in the Midland Combination Premier Division when they travel to Staffordshire to face lowly Meir KA on Saturday (3pm).

Town have been without a league game for three weeks and have slipped down to third behind new leaders Coleshill.

Neil Hunt will be without top-scorer Lee Hooper, who is at a wedding, but the Town boss welcomes back skipper Luke Whittington and Gary Smith from suspension.

However, there are doubts over brothers Richard and Lee Tomkins.
