BROMSGROVE Rovers manager Rod Brown wants his side to use their mid-week FA Cup victory as a launchpad to better league results.

Rovers secured a home date against Blue Square North side Nuneaton Borough on Saturday week after defeating Shepshed Dynamo 2-0 in Tuesday's first qualifying round replay.

But they return to Southern League Premier Division action on Saturday when they entertain Mangotsfield United at the Victoria Ground (3pm).

Rovers are yet to win at home this season and shipped seven goals in their last two outings at headquarters.

Boss Brown said: "Mangotsfield are a tough side. I know their manager Frank Gregan well and he puts out a strong side - but they have had an up-and-down start.

"We are trying to put together a bit of form and recapture what we showed in pre-season. We played well on Tuesday, worked hard and raised the bar a little bit from Saturday and got in their faces right from the off.

"There was never any real danger of us conceding a goal and in the end 2-0 was comfortable. Hopefully, that can act as a springboard."

Rovers will be without Les Hines for at least three weeks after the former Worcester City player tore his hamstring in the Shepshed replay.

Midfielder Kevin Banner (broken toe) and striker Gary Hay (foot) are still sidelined.
