EMEKA Nwadike and Ryan Clarke both have fond memories of their time at Alfreton Town.

Between them, they made more than 250 appearances at the Impact Arena and established themselves as key players in the side.

Nwadike scooped every player award going at last season, while Clarke endeared himself to the fans with his performances down the right.

But tomorrow they will run out at their old stomping ground on the opposing side, having moved to Worcester City.

Midfielder general Nwadike was first to arrive at St George's Lane, securing a switch in June as Andy Preece assembled a squad looking to go one better than last season.

Clarke's transfer, however, took slightly longer to sort out after City and Alfreton failed to agree a fee and a Football Association tribunal was called in, eventually setting the figure at £3,000.

The 23-year-old, expected to be fit despite a foot injury, is ready to return to his former club but wants to focus on extending his new team's unbeaten run to six Blue Square North games.

He said: "I am looking forward to going back but it's another game.

"If we win we have got every chance of pushing towards the play-offs.

"It will be weird because I played a lot of games there and it will be strange being in the away dressing room.

"I am not too sure what reception I will get. I enjoyed my time there so it's not like I left on bad terms."

Like his team-mate, Nwadike enjoyed his time at Alfreton but felt the time had come to further his career.

The 29-year-old has made an instant impression on the City faithful and was rewarded for his efforts with the club website's player-of-the-month award for August.

He said: "It will be strange but a lot has changed since we left with a new manager and new players.

"There was no problem with anybody at the club, I just wanted to move forward. At my age I wanted to be pushing at the right end of the table rather than scrapping at the bottom week in, week out.

"I felt I had a better chance of doing it at Worcester with the players we have got than at Alfreton with a new set-up and starting from scratch."
