WORCESTER Wolves are sweating on a delay over big new signing Dave Mallon's arrival.

The 6ft 10ins USA forward received his work permit three weeks ago but is still waiting for clearance from the New York Consulate.

Mallon has been in constant contact with head coach Skouson Harker and is desperate to arrive in Worcester to join his new team-mates for the British Basketball League campaign.

The first competitive game is next Friday at Milton Keynes with Wolves entertaining Plymouth Raiders the following day at the University of Worcester.

Wolves have invited Manchester Magic for a pre-season friendly at the University of Worcester on Sunday (4pm). Entrance is £3 for everybody.

Last Sunday, Wolves played a friendly against Birmingham Panthers and enjoyed a comfortable 108-81 win.

Magic have been one of the most successful sides in English Basketball League Division One in recent years and lifted the National Trophy at the NIA arena last season.

Harker said: "It was pleasing to see the guys on the court together for the first time and there were some positive aspects taken from the Panthers game. There is still a lot to work on to ensure that we will be ready."
