KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have eased worries over their goalkeeping situation by signing experienced Shrewsbury Town keeper Chris MacKenzie on a one-month loan deal.

Harriers' stopper Scott Bevan has been struggling with a thigh injury over the past couple of the weeks.

With the former MK Dons player unlikely to be fit for tomorrow's game with Torquay (3pm), boss Mark Yates has swooped for cover.

Reserve keeper Dean Coleman has picked up a hairline fracture to a finger so MacKenzie's arrival should help settle the situation.

Veteran MacKenzie, also the goalkeeping coach at the New Meadow, arrives at Aggborough with close to 400 career appearances under his belt.

He started out in non-league football with Corby before a three-year spell with Hereford United.

The Northampton-born 35-year-old's former clubs also include Leyton Orient, Nuneaton Borough and Chester City.
