THE defeat at Alfreton was as poor a performance as we have put in since I have been at Worcester City. But we need to put it behind us and move on.

There's no point dwelling on it. We don't dwell on wins and say how good we were and we won't dwell on this and say how bad we were.

Looking at the whole picture since the start of the season, we are in a half-decent position in the league.

I said if we were in the top 10 after 10 games it would be a massive achievement. We are just outside that in 11th but after the start we have had we are still in touch and now we move on to the next 10 games.

I thought taking anything between 12 and 16 points from the first 10 games would have been an OK return and I really do believe if we had put our best foot forward we would be on 15 instead of 12.

But we have got ourselves into a position, albeit slightly short of the play-offs, have players coming back from injury and there are a couple of weeks before the next league games.

Had the Alfreton performance come before our five-game unbeaten run we would be saying that our current position is not too bad.

Tamworth and Nuneaton are still below us and you would expect them to be challenging.

That result could have damaged us in the long term had it come during a bad run but, as it is, it's not done too much damage.

We just have to move on to the next game and take any good things out of it. Craig Wilding's goal was a great strike, while Nick Colley and Troy Wood both got some minutes on the field.

I am still disappointed with the display, I felt we didn't make the most of the extra man and we started in such a poor vein we couldn't get out of it.

If you don't get the ball wide and get behind teams you are not going to create opportunities.

We also lacked a bit of discipline with players going here, there and everywhere instead of holding their positions and creating overlaps.

I was interested to watch the Manchester United and Chelsea match on Sunday when Chelsea went down to 10 men after Mikel Jon Obi was sent off.

United couldn't break them down and opted to play through the middle instead of down the flanks.

They never seemed to get into wide areas and get crosses in, although Chelsea defended very deep. So struggling ag-ainst 10 men can happen.

We have been playing pretty well and creating opportunities of late, it was just something that came out of nothing.

We will learn from it but we are not going to simply dismantle everything that had been going well beforehand.

It was a bit of a shock, after we had put in a five-game unbeaten run, but we will leave that performance at Alfreton and move on.
