WORCESTER Wolves Wheelchair Basketball Club secured back-to-back wins in National League Division Three South West.

They beat Gloucester Blazers 35-24 and Hampshire Harriers 50-45 as Rob Whale started as the team’s new assistant coach.

Against Gloucester, Wolves secured an early lead of 10 in the first quarter and maintained the lead as they ended up winning by 11 points.

Top scorer was Frankie Jones with 10.

Against Hampshire, Wolves got off to their best start of the season with 22 points in the first quarter with all of the starting five combining well.

In the second quarter captain Jones suffered a knock to the teeth and had to be subbed off for a while.

But Wolves still maintained an offensive presence and displayed decent defence, going into half-time with a 20-point lead.

Things began to slip for the hosts in the third quarter as they started to play as five individuals rather than as a team.

This caused a slight downfall for Wolves as Hampshire started to fire up.

Towards the end of the final quarter composed free throws from Jones secured Wolves the five-point victory, capping off a successful weekend for the club.

Top scorer was again Jones with 14 points.

Wolves face Thames Valley Kings on Saturday at the University of Worcester Arena (1.30pm). Entry is free.
