WORCESTER City Youth’s under 18s moved to the top of the Junior Premier League and Midland Floodlit Youth League tables.

Fielding a host of under 16s, City won 3-0 at Nottingham Education in the JPL as they gained swift revenge for defeat in their recent home fixture.

Matty Patrick-Rivers scored alongside a brace from Tom Mills including a superb strike inside the first 90 seconds.

A rampant first-half display saw City take a 3-0 lead against a strong Halesowen Town side in their MFYL clash.

Two team goals by Hassan Shah and Joe Clarke were followed by a neat finish from Christos Gabriel to put City in control.

Despite their opponents pulling a goal back from the penalty spot after the interval a 4-1 victory was sealed when Shah grabbed his second from a free-kick.

The striker was on the mark again for the reserves as they went second in the Midland League with a 6-0 success over Coton Green.

In a display built around a strong defensive performance and dominant midfield, Shah was among the scorers in a five-goal second-half blitz.

Riley Keasey (2) and Ethan Moran were also on target and Joel Owusu added to his earlier strike.

City’s under 10s extended their unbeaten run to seven games at Kidderminster Harriers but the girls' under 18s suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Redditch United 5-0.

While the under 11s and girls' under 10s were taking on Birmingham St George’s and Kidderminster Lions, the under 13s and under 15s made progress in the JPL Cup.

They both came from behind to record 2-1 wins over Gloucestershire opposition.

Harry Rebbeck took his goal tally to five for the week with two late efforts as the under 13s defeated Gloucester City.

A crucial one-on-one save by Archie Bennett ensured the under 15s reached the next round after Jack Fisher and Alex Watts goals against South Gloucestershire RTC.
