FLOODLIGHT problems at Bromsgrove’s Victoria Ground have created some doubt over Worcester City’s game on Tuesday night.

City are due to host landlords Bromsgrove Sporting in the Worcestershire FA Senior Urn semi-finals (7.45pm).

But a half-time floodlight failure denied Sporting on Saturday after they led 3-1 at home to 10-man Didcot Town.

A Sporting statement explained: “The fault is in the pylon for the lights on the antenna near the turnstiles.

“The light kept tripping when we attempted to restart suggesting there is a short circuit in or around the pylon.

"The lights on the other three pylons are all working OK as they were at the beginning of the second half.

“However the referee thought that there was insufficient light in the south-east corner of pitch to play the match safely and reluctantly took the decision to abandon.

"The lights as are still under guarantee and we have been successful in contacting the company who installed them.

“However as may be expected they cannot investigate until Monday morning but they have stated they will do everything possible to rectify the problem with a view to ensuring the match against Worcester City can be played but obviously it depends on the cause of the fault.”

Second-placed Sporting’s Southern League Division One Central game with Didcot will be replayed.

Richard Gregory, Craig Jones and Jason Cowley put Sporting three goals up inside 17 minutes.

Didcot had Cameron McNeill sent off four minutes before the break.

Meanwhile, Alvechurch slipped to sixth in the Premier Division Central after a 4-2 defeat at Biggleswade Town.

Joshua March and Andre Carvalho-Landell scored for Church.

Mitchell Piggon levelled late on as Redditch United drew 1-1 at home to King's Lynn Town.

James Roberts struck an injury-time penalty winner for Hereford FC in their first National League North victory under head coach Marc Richards.

Mike Symons also netted in the 2-1 win over Alfreton Town at Edgar Street.

Mark Danks (2), Drew Canavan and Callum Devlin guided Stourport Swifts to a 4-0 home win over Dunkirk in the Midland League Premier Division.

Westfields exited the FA Vase third round with a 4-0 home loss to Leicester Nirvana.
