WORCESTER City hope to give their promotion prospects a wake-up call after signing a midfielder nicknamed after a breakfast cereal.

French powerhouse Kaoui Attoumani, known as Special K by team-mates past and present, has been snapped up from Midland Football League rivals Wolverhampton Sporting Community.

The midfielder played six times for the Premier Division’s bottom club having had a five-match stint with AFC Wulfrunians, during which he featured in a 2-0 defeat to City at the Victoria Ground in September. He is also on the books at Stourbridge.

Alongside ex-Gloucester City winger Jamal Lawrence, Attoumani comes into contention for Saturday’s trip to Sporting Khalsa.

“We have seen big Special K three or four times, he’s a big strong boy,” said City manager John Snape.

“Hopefully he will give us a bit more strength in the middle of the park with the tough, physical games we have coming up.

“The best part is that he is a footballer as well as having that presence and we want to play. It is up to him to nail down a spot but he can add to that competition for places in midfield.”
