BROMSGROVE Sporting received a double boost ahead of a showdown with Southern League Central league leaders Peterborough Sports tomorrow (3pm).

The troublesome floodlight that threatened the game going ahead has been fixed with Mike McGrath also snapped up from Hereford.

McGrath featured 17 times for the Bulls this season and played a pivotal role in their Southern League championship-winning season last term.

Rouslers manager Brendan Kelly said: “I am absolutely delighted Macca chose to sign for us.

“He was inundated with offers as far up the ladder as step two. It is a huge coup for the club.

“I played with Macca before and know his game inside out. A player of his talent and experience will certainly be beneficial to the squad.”

The 33-year old has featured for Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United, Galway United, Sligo Rovers, Halesowen Town, Evesham United and Alvechurch during his career.

Striker Kane Simpson has signed for Evesham United in time for tomorrow's Division One South trip to Fleet Town (3pm).

He joins brothers Cory and Kye Simpson at the Jubilee Stadium having started the season with Frome Town.

Evesham defender Nick Humphreys has transferred to league rivals Yate Town.

In Southern League Premier Division Central, Alvechurch host a clash of the promotion contenders as AFC Rushden & Diamonds visit Lye Meadow (3pm).

Church rescued a last-ditch point at Halesowen Town in midweek and sit in the fifth and final play-off berth ahead of kick-off.

Improving Redditch United head to St Neots (3pm) six points off both the relegation zone and play-off places.

In West Midlands Regional League Premier Division, Malvern Town seek a return to winning ways when they make the short trip to Pegasus Juniors (3pm).

Spirits were high at the HDanywhere Community Stadium after back-to-back league victories but they were sent crashing to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Wednesfield last Saturday.

The miserable afternoon also saw striker Matt Turner receive a red card following a first-half melee.

Joint-boss Dene Whittal-Williams was frustrated with the result but urged his players to get back on track as they visit a Pegasus side who sit second from bottom.

“We need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and be ready to go again,” he said.

“There was a positive vibe amongst the lads going into last weekend’s game and we gave it a go in the first half.

“Going down to ten men had a big impact on our attacking threat and in the end it was a disappointing way for our unbeaten run to come to an end. There’s no time to feel sorry for ourselves.”

Pershore Town host Shawbury United (3pm) while in Division One, Worcester Raiders welcome Team Dudley and Droitwich Spa entertain Allscott (both 2pm).
