GETTING players back to full fitness is the main priority now.

It was disappointing to lose in the FA Cup at the weekend but, on the plus side, it does give us a free week to rest the squad.

We need to rest players and make sure they are back at 100 per cent because it's evident some aren't at the moment.

Graham Ward and Mark Danks have done a job for us in the short-term because we were desperate to win at Tamworth but long-term we need them playing at their best.

Graham and Mark will not be involved at Boston United on Saturday but then we have a two-week break before the visit of Southport to St George's Lane on October 20.

There is also the possibility that Adam Burley and Shabir Khan will be available once the Boston match is out of the way.

Southport, followed by Nun-eaton at home the week after, are tough games and we are going to need our key players fit.

We have done OK to be where we are in the table with the teams we have played and the start we have had.

It's not an easy league, every game is dificult. Boston were a league side last year and Tamworth were a Conference side last season.

These are full-time teams in the league and you don't get anything without having ever-yone playing to their best and we haven't had that yet.

The 4-2 victory at Hinckley was as near as we have got to it. We did well at Tamworth when we went there and won in early September and we did well at Telford in August.

I think those three games are the only ones we have had everybody close to being on top form and we have to be like that a little bit more often.

Rob Smith, the Telford manager, said we were the best team they had played this season and Telford have only lost one game so far.

I thought the performance against Tamworth in the FA Cup was a lot better than at Alfreton. The game could have gone either way.

We are still creating chances away from home against good sides. There are encouraging signs and we just need to make sure we manage the squad correctly.

Also encouraging is the ground announcement, which is due tomorrow.

A new ground is vital be-cause of the way the finances are going in this league. They are changing year by year and there is more money available to clubs.

It doesn't matter about crowds, clubs with 300-400 fans are getting massive budgets and we are getting left a little bit behind because of the debt we carry.

I think a new ground, clearing the debt and the excitement of the extra support and money we will generate is going to be massive for Wor-cester City Football Club.

I hope I can be part of that because a lot of hard work has gone into ensuring the future of the club.

I would say the majority of the players here now will be part of the squad when we go into the new ground because of their age.
