CLUB legend Daryl Mitchell will be the guest speaker at Worcestershire Cricket Society's winter evening in the Hick Pavilion tomorrow (7.30).

January is the month where traditionally a Worcestershire CCC player or official speaks to society members with the former captain filling the berth in 2019.

The 35-year-old was once again Worcestershire’s leading scorer in the County Championship in 2018, hitting four centuries as the fifth highest run-scorer in Division One with 957 at an average of 36.80.

He has now struck 34 first-class tons for Worcestershire – 35 in total – and moved into seventh spot on their all-time list of century-makers.

Badsey-born Mitchell has been a first-team regular at New Road for a decade now and served as captain between 2011 and 2016.

He will be recalling his triumphs during that period, including the memorable Vitality Blast success last season, his deep passion for football and his role as PCA chairman for the past two years in a period of change for cricket.

Non-society members can attend for £5.
