WORCESTER City's free travel service for over-50s has been extended for another four matches this season – including Saturday's match with Walsall Wood.

The homeless Midland Football League outfit play at Bromsgrove Sporting's Victoria Ground and have teamed up Age UK and Fans for Diversity to put on return transport for selected home games.

City's venture targets loneliness and isolation, particularly for elderly men.

A statement read; "It might not seem like a lot, but simply going to the football can bring a sense of belonging that a lot of people have lost as they have got older.

"Especially following Christmas time, some older people can start to feel quite isolated. If you have a relative, friend, colleague or even a neighbour, let them know about this."

Buses run from the carpark near the cafe by Pitchcroft racecourse at 2pm with places available to those booking by calling 01905 724294 or emailing info@ageukwd.org

The service will also run for home fixtures against Long Eaton United on Saturday, February 23, Boldmere St Michaels on Saturday, March 16 and Highgate United for the last match of the league season on Saturday, April 27.
