SEVERN Stars will make their first outing at the new University of Gloucestershire Sports Arena for Friday night's Vitality Netball Superleague clash with Celtic Dragons (7.30pm).

Until now home matches have been held at the University of Worcester Arena but this season they will take place at both universities.

More than 800 fans are set to attend and the club which is co-owned by the University of Worcester and University of Gloucestershire are hoping they will get behind the players including Wales international shooters Cara Lea Moseley and Georgia Rowe who joined from Dragons.

Stars' joint director Dr Anita Navin said: “Celtic Dragons will be a tough side to beat given their successful win against London Pulse.

"Having a little insight into the Welsh players through Georgia and Cara Lea will prove useful in our preparations."

Following a weeks’ break for the international Netball Quad Series, Stars are looking to returning to winning ways after losing 52-44 at last year’s Superleague finalists Loughborough Lightning.

Head coach Sam Bird added: "We need to be more ruthless with possession and punish opponents when we have the opportunity."
