A NUNNERY Wood High School pupil will head to the National Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Leeds on March 16.
Year 11 teenager Lauren Kennard finished second in the Hereford and Worcester Schools' Championships at Top Barn near Worcester.
Kennard was competing against around 30 girls from across the counties over four kilometres and will be among a team of eight at the nationals.
She qualifies for the third time but in her best position yet.
Kennard, who runs for Worcester Athletic Club, said: “I am really pleased to have qualified and I’m really looking forward to racing at Leeds.
"It’ll be a great experience.”
