WORCESTER Raiders tackle a team that has shipped 21 goals in three matches tomorrow with boss Karl Gormley quick to warn against complacency.

Third-bottom Bustleholme visit Claines Lane in West Midlands (Regional) League Division One having been larruped 10-0 by Droitwich Spa, 4-1 by Team Dudley and 7-3 by Sikh Hunters – all members of the top five – in January.

Second-placed Raiders have won 14 league matches in a row ahead of a run of three Saturday home games in a row which ends with the visit of table-toppers Darlaston on February 23.

Talk is already beginning to turn towards that big clash but Gormley wants minds firmly fixed on the job at hand.

“We have learned there are no easy games in this league, I know everyone says that but at this level teams can soon sign on a load of players if they feel like it,” said Gormley.

“Experience tells you not to take too much notice of the league table because of that.

“In the past Bustleholme has always been a tough game home or away so we won’t take anything for granted.

“We want to win all three but must focus on Saturday first and take it one game at a time.

"The lads are aware Darlaston is coming up but if you look too far ahead it can come back to bite you and that is what we will be getting across to them ahead of the weekend.”

Dean Waldron “should be fully fit” to feature but defender Alex Marsh’s one-match suspension carries over following the postponement of last weekend’s trip to Old Wulfrunians, a match that has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 6.

Midweek fixtures at Division One level tend to be few and far between but with each Saturday swallowed up between now and April 20, Raiders now face a second away day under the lights.

However, Gormley has no concerns over the availability issues that can haunt clubs at English football's 11th tier.

“We have been pretty lucky with the home games, Paul Loader (groundsman) puts in a lot of work on the pitch and we haven’t had any off at Claines Lane yet,” added the manager.

“To be honest we are used to this situation. Last season was a lot worse and we have a big squad so we should be fine to deal with it.

“Any midweek games should be okay because we have players to call upon now.”

Mid-table Wrens Nest provide the next opposition before the crunch showdown with Darlaston.

Going into the weekend, Raiders trail the leaders by five points with four games in hand. Darlaston host sixth-placed Old Wulfrunians on Saturday.
