WORCESTER Raiders and Droitwich Spa kept up their quest for the top in West Midlands League Division One by beating lowly sides.

Raiders switched their game to the artificial pitch at the University of Worcester with Claines Lane waterlogged and saw off Bustleholme 4-1.

Meanwhile, Spa romped to a 7-0 win at second-from-bottom Telford Juniors.

Raiders were in control for most of the game and built on a half-time lead of 1-0 with Rich Smith bagging a hat-trick.

Roland Krol also netted in the club's 15th straight league win.

Second-placed Raiders are five points behind leaders Darlaston Town, who beat Old Wulfrunians 2-0, with four games in hand.

Fifth-placed Spa signed striker Chris Conway on dual-registration from landlords Stourport Swifts and he made a quick impact with four goals at Telford.

The game was also switched to an artificial pitch to ensure it was played.

Matt Hunt headed in a corner as Spa only led 1-0 at the break.

But former Evesham United and Bromsgrove Sporting player Conway then took centre stage in the second period with his four goals alongside strikes from Ben Tilbury and Brad Burgess.

Spa are 12 points off the top with four games in hand.

Raiders host mid-table Wrens Nest on Saturday while Spa go to 12th-placed Tipton Town.

Inkberrow secured their seventh win in the last nine Midland League Division Three games with a 3-2 triumph at Coventry Plumbing.

Chris Parish, Nathan Simon and Tom Clews scored for second-placed Inkberrow who entertain Leamington Hibernian on Saturday.

They are level on points with leaders AFC Solihull who have four more games to play.

Second-from-bottom Pershore Town's West Midlands League Premier Division fixture with sixth-placed Black Country Rangers was postponed as their opponents could not field a team.

High-flying Malvern Town did not have a match and head to leaders Tividale on Saturday while Pershore visit AFC Bridgnorth.
