DERBYSHIRE Police wishes to identify and speak to this man in relation to an alleged assault during Worcester City's match at Ilkeston Town last month.

Police attended the New Manor Ground following a confrontation between groups of rival fans during the first half of City's Midland Football League fixture on Saturday, January 26.

A group recognised as away supporters by City chairman Steve Goode had to be prevented from heading towards other members of the crowd positioned behind the same goal with the match half an hour in.

One male was physically restrained and taken to a corner of the ground with a group of males following and gesticulating with Town officials and stewards.

Police arrived at half-time with Ilkeston chief operating officer Anthony Redwood later confirming one person had been ejected from the stadium.

No arrests were made but Ilkeston joined police in appealing for information, witnesses and footage taken on mobile phones in the aftermath with an allegation following.

The police statement read: "Our football unit has released an image of a man they want to speak to following disorder at the Ilkeston Town v Worcester City match on Saturday, January 26.

"Officers are investigating an assault that is alleged to have taken place during disorder at the New Manor Ground in Ilkeston.

"We believe the man pictured may be able to help officers with their investigation."
