FLANKER Ted Hill and centre Ollie Lawrence have been released by England under 20s and are likely to feature in Worcester Warriors’ clash with Leicester Tigers at Sixways on Sunday (1pm).

The duo have played in England’s past two Six Nations matches with Hill captaining his nation in the victory over France.

But head coach Steve Bates has opted not to select Hill and Lawrence as he makes seven changes for his side's showdown with Wales at the ZipWorld Stadium in Colwyn Bay on Friday (7.05pm).

Warriors pair Kai Owen and James Scott have again been named in England’s squad. Loosehead prop Owen made his England age-grade debut against France and he has again been named among the replacements along with lock Scott.

Bates said: “Making so many changes provides a challenge for the coaches but this is where the training we did with the wider squad in December and January pays dividends.

“This is a huge opportunity for those players coming in to show how talented they are and stake a claim for future selection. We had an impressive win against France, and the players that have come in since that victory have trained well and we have confidence in them to build on that win.

“We want to see the forward dominance we saw against France, while also playing with the fluidity we had against Ireland and then manage the game appropriately.”

England U20s: Hodge; Sleightholme, Doherty, de Glanville, Hassell-Collins; Wilkinson, Fox; Adkins, Dolly, Petch, Kpoku, Coles, Capstick, Hinkley, Willis.

Replacements: Ma’asi, Owen, Bartlett, Scott, Tuima, Maunder, Vunipola, Reeves.

TE'O IS RETAINED

CENTRE Ben Te’o has been retained in a squad of 25 players who will gear up for England's Guinness Six Nations match against Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday (4.45pm).

Te’o missed the wins over Ireland and France because of a side strain but he returned to training with Warriors last week and was then called into England’s initial training squad.

Jones added eight more players, including Warriors hooker Jack Singleton, to his squad on Sunday but has again reduced it to 25 to complete England’s preparations at their training base at Pennyhill Park.
