WARRIORS

7 Pennell – coughed up the ball a couple of times but was lively in attack throughout and provided the assist for Howe’s match-winning score.

6 Heem – caused a moment of panic when his pass was intercepted by Toomua in a dangerous position but was a threat with ball in hand and solid in the air.

7 Venter – picked a superb line to break through Tigers’ defence moments before Hougaard’s close-range score and was a handful for the opposition.

6 Mills – stepping in as captain in the absence of van Velze, the centre managed the game pretty well but was also guilty of handling mistakes and made way for Lawrence late on.

8 Howe – making his first Premiership start of the season, the in-form wing’s last-gasp try was reward for an impressive attacking display as he was a real livewire on the right.

5 Weir – gifted Holmes a try with an intercept and missed two relatively simple kicks at goal in a sorry first half but showed great character to bounce back in the second period.

7 Hougaard – after his poor performance at Harlequins last weekend the Springbok had a point to prove and delivered as he tried to get his side on the front foot and weighed in with a try.

7 Waller – making his first start of the campaign, the prop demonstrated his intent when he charged down White’s early kick and held up his side of the scrum.

8 SINGLETON – did not put a foot wrong in the set-piece and worked tirelessly in attack and defence as he carried well and put in a number of tackles. My man of the match.

5 Schonert – appeared to be in discomfort in the warm-up and was not his usual self as he was penalised on three occasions, twice at the scrum where he’s usually dominant.

8 Bresler – almost did not feature due to a sickness bug but gave his all, putting in some meaty tackles in a physical showing and was solid at the lineout.

7 Fatialofa – is really settling in at Warriors as he took charge of a lineout that had a 91 per cent success rate and produced some nice touches in the loose.

7 Hill – made a lot of ground for his side with strong ball-carrying but missed the odd tackle and was also penalised on one too many occasions.

7 Lewis – got stuck in at the breakdown as Warriors counter-rucked well throughout and stepped up in defence with more tackles (12) than any of his team-mates.

8 Mama – replacing the injured van Velze at number eight, the Zimbabwean added a bit of X-factor to Worcester’s back row as he got away from tacklers with neat footwork.

Replacements: Black 6 (Waller 53), Milasinovich 6 (Schonert 53), Phillips 6 (Bresler 57), Heaney (Hougaard 70), Lawrence (Mills 70). Not used: Miller, Cox, Lance.
