EVESHAM United slipped out of the Division One South play-off places despite a 90th-minute penalty from Kane Simpson rescuing a 2-2 draw at home to Bristol Manor Farm.

The visitors hit the post midway through the first half but it was the Robins who drew first blood with defender Shayne Anson (pictured) turning in an inviting corner from Adam Page after 32 minutes.

Simpson had a golden chance to make it two seconds after the restart and Evesham immediately go punished when Owen Howe converted a penalty.

Howe then notched with a close-range tap in to put Farm in front with 15 minutes to go but United salvaged a share of the spoils when Joe Turley was brought down by Jamie Turner for Simpson to level from 12 yards.

The Robins also had to contend with a fresh injury worry with Will Tunnicliff stretchered off towards the end of the first half.

In Premier Division Central, Redditch United took another small step towards safety with a 0-0 draw against in-form Tamworth.

The Lambs had the better of it at the Valley Stadium but Paul Smith's troops stood firm to cross the 40-point mark and move nine clear of the drop zone.

Early goals in each half saw Alvechurch maintain their play-off push with a 2-0 victory at mid-table St Ives.

Aaron Lloyd held up for Tom Tonks to cross and Kyle Morrison swept home the opener within six minutes.

Man-of-the-match Tonks then got his first since joining Church to put the visitors in command with the win pushing them back into the top five, a point ahead of nearest rivals AFC Rushden & Diamonds with two games in hand.

In National North, Hereford seem as good as safe from the drop after Josh Gowling's late winner settled a scrappy 1-0 success over fellow strugglers Guiseley.

Kidderminster Harriers lost 3-1 at Brackley Town. Joe Ironside levelled with a first-half penalty against the run of play but two goals in eight second-half minutes put Mark Yates's men a point and a place behind the final play-off berth having played two matches more than the three teams above them.

WEST Midlands (Regional) League Division One leaders Worcester Raiders blew a two-goal lead in the final 10 minutes to draw 2-2 draw at Gornal Athletic on Saturday.

Raiders had led through Kyle Belmonte and Matt Andrews netting either side of the interval but the match was levelled inside the final 10 minutes by Kane Showell and Ryan Piggott.

Title rivals Darlaston Town (1874) did not play so Raiders lead the way by three points from the same number of games.

The standings do not account for Raiders’ 3-1 win at Bustleholme on Tuesday, a match that was abandoned in added time following a brawl involving players and staff from both sides and members of the crowd.

Elsewhere, Ben Tilbury (2) and Callum Morris scored as Droitwich Spa overcame Bustleholme 3-0.

In the Premier Division, goals from James Febery, Harry Clark and Dave Reynolds fired Malvern Town to a 3-1 win at Wem.

The result came despite delays en route to keep Malvern in with a shout of promotion.

“After arriving late due to the M5 being closed, our preparation wasn’t perfect,” said co-manager Lee Hooper.

“It contributed to what was a slow start to the game as we had Adam Sauntson to thank for a goal-line clearance.

“We went on to create a number of further opportunities late on but in the end we were happy to come away with the three points. It means that we have taken nine points this week to reward the supporters who have clocked up the miles to cheer us on."

Pershore Town now sit six points clear of the drop zone after a 7-1 thrashing of Shawbury United on their own patch.

Matt Pinder bagged a hat-trick, including a second-half penalty with Nick Seabourne and James Baldwin also among the scorers.

Town keeper Toby Wilcox also saved a penalty in a match that Shawbury finished with 10 men.
