DARLASTON Town has announced their potential title-deciding match with Worcester Raiders has been made all ticket "to safeguard the reputation of the club and the league".

As things stand, the teams are separated by three points at the top of West Midlands (Regional) League Division One with five matches each remaining, pending the outcome of Raiders' abandoned match at Bustleholme which they were winning 3-1 two minutes into added time.

It follows on from Darlaston's allegations that players and club officials suffered "numerous incidents” of “violence, racist and abusive comments” in the reverse fixture at Claines Lane last month.

Darlo released a statement on March 1 to confirm they had filed complaints with the Football Association. No verdict has been published yet.

There have been allegations of incidents at two further Raiders fixtures since.

Raiders announced an investigation into claims an empty plastic bottle was thrown at the referee during the match with Sikh Hunters on Saturday, March 16. A club spokesperson said the perpetrator had travelled with the away team.

Three days later came the abandonment at Bustleholme following a brawl involving players and staff of both clubs and members of the crowd.

No announcement has been made by any of the clubs or relevant administrative bodies on any of the incidents since.

Darlaston's release read: "Following several incidents at our game at Worcester Raiders on Saturday, February 23, the club committee and directors agreed that admission to the return fixture on Saturday, April 13 will be by pre-ordered ticket only.

"Tickets will only be available to bona fide and regular supporters of both clubs. We have informed Worcester Raiders of the arrangements for their supporters.

"Our regular supporters who wish to order a ticket should email tickets@darlastontown1874fc.com or contact chairman Neil Chambers by Sunday, March 31.

"Further details will be published in our match day programme for the home game against Team Dudley on Saturday, March 30 and tickets can be ordered at that game by regular supporters speaking to Neil.

"Admission prices remain unchanged and payment for the ticket should be made on the day

"Conditions and restrictions will apply on the day and will be published in the programme versus Team Dudley. Applicants will also be notified of these by return email.

"We understand this approach will mean neutrals and groundhoppers will be disadvantaged but the committee and directors believe (it) is appropriate to safeguard the reputation of the club and the league.

"No one will be allowed entry to the ground without confirmation from the club that a ticket has been approved."

Raiders announced on social media that fans planning to attend Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Gornal Athletic were required to register before travelling.

A statement posted on the club’s Twitter account read: “If any of our supporters are looking to attend our away game (at) Gornal Athletic we need you to register with us via direct message please, as with the events and accusations regarding our club recently we are putting a system in place to ensure this does not happen again.”

Raiders chairman Kevin Jenkins was unavailable for comment.
