A WHOPPING 12 goals in two matches has propelled Pershore Town nine points clear of relegation with a little help from Worcester City's James Baldwin.

Town ran riot in a 7-1 thrashing of Shawbury United on their own patch on Saturday which was backed up by Tuesday's 5-0 demolition job of Black Country Rangers.

Matt Pinder bagged a hat-trick, including a second-half penalty with Nick Seabourne and Baldwin also netting against Shawbury. Pinder, Baldwin (2), Seabourne and Zaqib Hussain did the business against Black Country.

It means Pershore now boast a five-match unbeaten run since narrowly losing 2-1 to league leaders Tividale last month and now sit within one win of moving out of the bottom six.

There are two relegation places in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division but it is unlikely all will go down due to the lack of clubs applying for promotion from beneath and the Football Association's desire to fill vacancies in leagues.

Pershore have four matches remaining, all of which are at home, with promotion-hopefuls Haughmond heading to the Community Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
