INTERIM head coach Tony Garbelotto believes Worcester Wolves have got a “big win in us” ahead of tonight’s home battle with Newcastle Eagles (7.30pm).

Wolves are two points adrift at the foot of the British Basketball League but are on a high after beating Manchester Giants 97-78 last weekend.

Garbelotto conceded third-placed Eagles were “a level above” Giants but was “confident” about his side’s chances of claiming a big scalp.

“Newcastle are going to be extremely strong,” Garbelotto said.

“When we played them last time it was my first game and I was not really integrated with the team.

“Now is going to be a little bit different.

“I honestly think we have got a big win in us somewhere down the line.

“It is going to be tough but if we can get off to the kind of start we had against Manchester and Surrey and not get ourselves in a hole like we did against Sheffield then I think we have got a great chance of winning.”

Forward Deshawn Freeman was named in the BBL’s All-Star Five after finishing with 23 points and 19 rebounds in the victory over Manchester.

“Deshawn’s energy and effort was on a different level and drove us on,” Garbelotto said.
