MANAGER Karl Gormley reckons Worcester Raiders’ next three games will “make or break” their season.

Raiders host Willenhall Town in the West Midlands League Division One Cup semi-finals tomorrow (3pm) before visiting third-placed Sikh Hunters on Tuesday and closest rivals Darlaston Town the following Saturday in the league.

Gormley says ensuring leaders Raiders finish top of the table remains the “priority” but he is desperate to win another trophy with a potential final against Hunters or Tipton Town.

“The next seven days will make or break our season,” Gormley said. “But we are all looking forward to it. We are confident and will try to win all three games.

“Obviously the league is our priority and we have made no secret about that.

“But a cup final would be massive for us so we will be taking that match as seriously as the two league games.

“We won this competition a couple of years ago so it would be nice if we could get the trophy back again.”

Attacker Luke Molloy is back from holiday and expected to start after missing last Saturday’s 3-1 win at Wellington Amateurs.

But the versatile Dean Waldron, who has been starring at centre-back, has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

“Dean rolled his ankle and there might be slight ligament damage there but we will see how he goes,” Gormley said.

“We won’t risk him as we have got a big enough squad.

“We change the team near enough every game just to keep everyone happy and we will be doing the same again this weekend.”

Raiders are three points clear at the summit, pending the outcome of their abandoned match at Bustleholme.

Gormley’s side led 3-1 at York Road in the second minute of added time at the end of the 90 when a brawl involving players and staff from both teams and members of the crowd led to referee Pete Durnall prematurely calling time.

Gormley said Raiders had been ringing the league and Worcestershire FA “every day” to find out whether or not they would receive the three points.

“We have got to wait to hear but we are hoping they can get it sorted sooner rather than later as we need to know where we stand ahead of next week,” Gormley added.
