JOSH Adams’ injured wrist is set to be examined – but boss Alan Solomons is considering ringing the changes for Worcester Warriors’ next Gallagher Premiership bout.

The Wales international was seen with an ice pack on his left wrist after helping Warriors defeat Gloucester 27-20 at Sixways this weekend.

Solomons said Adams and the rest of his team-mates would be given 48 hours off to recover from Sunday’s bruising derby.

But with just a six-day turnaround to prepare for Saturday’s trip to Northampton Saints (3pm) Solomons admitted he might look at rotating his team.

“Josh has got a bit of a strained wrist,” said Solomons immediately after the victory over Gloucester that maintained Warriors’ top-flight status.

“I spoke to him in the changing room and he thinks he will be fine.

“Probably by tomorrow morning it won’t be great and then we will see. It normally takes 48 hours before you get a clearer indication.

“As we are at the back end of a season that’s this attritional we have got to give the guys 48 hours off.

“It’s a six-day turnaround and we have got to think about that in terms of our selection and rotation as this game would have taken a lot out of everybody.”

Solomons made just one change to the side that beat Sale Sharks 39-17 in the previous round of fixtures with Perry Humphreys replacing the suspended Bryce Heem.

“The lads played so well against Sale I wasn’t prepared to change that team,” Solomons said.

“The lads earned the opportunity to play this game.

“This match was more physical than the one against Sale. Don’t get me wrong both sides were physical.

“But that was quite a heavy, old Gloucester side.”

Warriors have moved 11 points clear of the drop zone and overtaken Leicester Tigers into 10th position with two games left.

Solomons’ side visit Saints before ending the campaign with a home clash with Saracens on Saturday, May 18.

“The staff will be in but the players will be off on Monday and Tuesday because of a game like that they need to recover,” Solomons said.

“We decided that in advance as the programmes for the week went out on Friday morning.

“I have got to have a look at what we do in terms of our selection for Northampton because this was a massive game and we have got to use our brains.

“I would like to see us do as well as we can right through until the end of the season.”
