WORCESTERSHIRE Martial Arts enjoyed medal success at the Elite Martial Art Professional (EMAP) Open in Swindon.

There were taekwondo golds in both sparring and patterns for Valentin Vizitiu, Kieran Hodgson and Kirsty Denslow.

Tom Weeks and Lisa Perkins won their sparring categories.

Sparring silvers went to Amy Pullen, Jamie Haden, Greta Greiciute, Robert Vizitiu, Junko Steptoe and Alun Lewis.

Joe Mitchell and Perkins added silvers in patterns.

Bronzes in sparring and patterns were picked up by Sarah Lewis and Lizzy Haden.

Mitchell had a sparring bronze while patterns bronzes were won by Zaria Fudger, Charlotte Harris, Joseph Harris, Steptoe, Greiciute and Alun Lewis.

Meanwhile, Worcester’s Riverside club celebrated three golds at the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain English Championships.

The University of Worcester Arena hosted the action with the golds achieved in power and patterns, one silver in power and five bronzes in power, individual sparring and team sparring.

Then students achieved a 100 per cent pass rate at their colour belt grading at Hereford’s Halo Leisure Centre under grand master Don Atkins, a founding member of the TAGB.

Riverside instructor Maresha Grewal said: “I’m so proud of all our members and how the club is starting to grow.”

The successful members included Lily and Jess Francis, Ruth Seekings, Harrison Fletcher and Grewal while six-year-old Alex Seekings was a first-time competitor.

Hall Family Taekwondo secured a host of medals at a competition.

Chief instructors Luke and Sarah Hall, their children Lachlan and Bella and assistant instructor Dan Sneddon shone at the International Taekwondo Council Open in Swindon.

Sneddon won gold in a tough category. Lachlan and Bella Hall showed spirit in their first open with a silver medal for the latter.

Luke Hall bagged sparring and pattern golds while Sarah Hall won gold in destruction (board breaking) and gold and silver in sparring.
