OMBERSLEY were dismissed for 86 as they lost their Worcestershire derby by 101 runs at Bromsgrove in Birmingham Cricket League Premier Division Two.

Worcestershire’s Alex Milton (56) held the Bromsgrove innings together against spinners Oliver Uffindall (4-25) and County team-mate Brett D’Oliveira (2-23).

Milton saw them to 187 all out with the next highest score being 23 from Mike Hingley.

But the total proved more than enough as Ombersley were skittled despite the presence of D’Oliveira (30) in their line-up.

The wickets were spread between Ashley Newfield (3-14), Tom Russell (2-11), Gareth Williams (2-18) and Alex Wilkinson (2-30) as Bromsgrove eased to their second win in a row.

Barnards Green’s one-wicket win over Oswestry owed much to a ninth-wicket stand of 69 between Mahaaz Ahmed (78 not out) and Ben Bromage (31).

In pursuit of Oswestry’s 228-6, the hosts slipped to 159-8 before the rescue act.

Oswestry openers Joe Carrasco (62) and Warrick Fynn (61) put on 134 at the start of the match.

Carrasco was the best of the visiting bowlers with 4-38 but once his spell was finished the heroic duo were not separated until the scores were level, leaving number 11 batsman Monzur Ahmed to defend one ball before Mahaaz Ahmed hit the winning run.

Winless Brockhampton remain bottom after a six-wicket defeat to Leamington Spa.

Joint top scorers in a total of 177 all out in 47.3 overs were Oliver Rogoff and Nick Powell with 25 as Perry Derrick snapped up 3-23.

The game was evenly balanced when Leamington lost their fourth wicket at 84 but William Mashinge (51no) and Oliver Currill (40no) saw them to victory with an unbroken stand of 94.

Barnt Green romped to an eight-wicket success at Dorridge in Division One after winning the toss and inviting the home side to bat first.

Dorridge slumped to 37-8 before a breezy 33 from Luke James saw them to 79 all out in 22.3 overs.

The early damage was done by Andy Sutton (5-25) and Adam Hines (3-24) before Zain ul-Hassan picked up the final two wickets for 14.

At 12-2 Green appeared to be in similar trouble but an unbeaten 60 by Ed Pollock from 41 balls eased them to a welcome first win of the season.

A fine spell from Warwickshire hopeful George Garrett (5-16) saw Shrewsbury dismiss Kidderminster for 127 at Chester Road despite 46 from in-form skipper Neil Pinner.

But Pinner received little support and it required a last-wicket stand of 32 to take them to 127 all out.

It was a total that was never likely to trouble the visitors as 53no from Will Parton and 35no from Llyr Thomas eased them to an eight-wicket victory.
