DARYL Mitchell smashed 156 for Brockhampton who earned a winning draw against Barnards Green in a Birmingham Premier League Division Two encounter.

The Worcestershire opener struck four sixes and 15 fours in his 156 ball innings as Brockhampton totalled 279-9.

County colleague Josh Tongue returned to bowling after missing the Specsavers County Championship match with Lancashire and had figures of 10-1-53-1 for Barnards Green.

George Rhodes finished with 2-62 and made 77 off 100 balls with six fours while Tongue (42) was also amongst the runs.

Mitchell took the new ball and picked up one wicket in sending down 12 overs for 45 runs as Barnards Green closed on 246-7 to suffer a losing draw.

Brett D’Oliveira (6-4-7-1) and Josh Dell (16 not out) helped Ombersley to a nine-wicket win overt Harborne who were bowled out for 103.

Ollie Westbury hit a half century for Himley in a 10 wicket win over Oswestry who were bowled out for 94.

His unbeaten 56 came off 56 balls with 10 fours as Himley needed only 13.5 overs to reach their modest target.

Tom Fell made 21 of Wolverhampton’s 287-4 in a 66 run win over Bridgnorth (221).

Adam Finch claimed two wickets for the victors and ended with 7.4-2-33-2.

Elsewhere, Bromsgrove claimed a winning draw at high-flying Leamington thanks to Ashley Newfield’s superb all-round display.

Newfield hit 14 fours and three sixes on his way to 132 off 147 balls before picking up three of Bromsgrove’s nine wickets.

In Division One, Worcestershire coach Andy Sutton collected another four wickets in a drawn game with Kenilworth Wardens.

Sutton had figures of 15-2-40-4 as Kenilworth closed on 181-7 in reply to Barnt Green’s 350-1 in which Warwickshire’s Ed Pollock and Ollie Stone scored centuries.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster defeated Smethwick by two wickets with Sukhjit Singh (4-37) starring with the ball.
