WORCESTER Raiders have been confirmed as champions of West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

Celebrations were put on ice when rivals Darlaston Town (1874) appealed the call that saw Raiders awarded three points from an abandoned match at Bustleholme.

But following a FA hearing at Wembley today Raiders chairman Kevin Jenkins said he was contacted by a West Midlands (Regional) League (WMRL) official at 12.10pm to confirm the appeal was upheld and were “officially champions”.

The trophy is set to be handed to manager Karl Gormley and his players at Claines Lane on Saturday morning (10am).

A further presentation will then be held at an end-of-season ceremony with league officials at Tipton Town at 7.30pm.
