WORCESTER’S Dark Horse drag racing team enjoyed a double success by winning twice in three weeks.
Brian Huxley, his son Lee Huxley and crew chief Andy Walker shone at Santa Pod Raceway, Bedfordshire.
Brian, 77, had a win out of 24 entries at the Springspeed Nationals after some close contests.
The car, a 1968 Ford Fastback Mustang with a Tim Hines-prepared 8.5-litre big block Ford V8 engine, runs the quarter of a mile in 9.50 seconds at 141mph.
The team then entered the Doorslammers event with Brian due to race on the first day and Lee the second.
But bad weather to open the meeting meant the entry fee was rolled into the second day and Lee raced for the grand prize of £10,000.
He got through 54 entries in his class to make the final against Nic Williams from Williams Brothers Racing in the Chevrolet Chevelle.
Williams triumphed by .02 of a second but Lee and the team were happy with £4,000 for second place and thanked their sponsors for the support.
