A SPECTACULAR umaiden century from 16-year-old Ciaran Magee and a five wicket haul from Jabba Riaz brought victory for Old Vigornians over city rivals Old Elizabethans seconds at Perdiswell.

After a delayed start the Worcestershire League Division Three match was reduced to 40 overs a side.

OVs struggled against accurate seam bowling and were 44-3 having lost in-form batsmen Oz Fiaz, Joe Sullivan and Henry Armstrong.

Magee initially struggled but eventually got off the mark with a six. He shared a fourth-wicket stand of 156 with Chris Drew (70) and finished on 118 not out. His innings included four maximums and 12 fours.

Thanks to Magee and Drew the old boys added 95 in the final ten overs and 51 in the last 5. The OVs finished on 231-6 Fast bowler Riaz celebrated his first post Ramadan game with his best figures since 2016.

He took 5-18 and removed the top five in the OEs batting order. Angus Guthrie (2-14) and Alex Parker (2-17) helped wrap up the tail, as the OEs were dismissed for just 86.
